Road Trip Quilt

Learn foundation paper piecing (FPP) while making a Road Trip Quilt with Rachael Painter, of Fiona Sandwich Quilt Patterns. (Original air date April 13, 2021)

The Road Trip Quilt pattern was designed as a way to show off the National Parks. It's a quick-to-make pattern, featuring foundation paper piecing (FPP) techniques, made even easier by using Sulky Paper Solvy.

Learn FPP the easy way! By printing the blocks onto Sulky paper Solvy, you'll make quick work of the piecing without having to pick paper out of the seams!

The quilt has areas for placing a patch or embroidery design (brown trapeziod as pictured) to personalize the quilt to your travel experiences. Make this into a lap quilt, or a wall hanging to remember your travel adventures, or a “bucket list” of places you want to go!

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Foundation paper Piecing basics using Sulky Paper Solvy
  • The difference between EPP and FPP
  • Thread types & weights for quilting like a pro
  • How to create a FPP quilt block from start to finish
  • Quilt customization inspiration

Once you register you'll be able to rewatch, pause, fast forward, and rewind, and watch as many times as you like! The event is stored in your Library for easy reference.

Grab the Road Trip Quilt Kit and get started!
